CASSINO EXCURSION
Cassino is an historic town in the south of the region Lazio, called
Casinum during Roman Age. It’s near the river Rapido, at the
foot of the hill where the Abbey of Montecassino is located,
the most famous Christian monastery, founded by Saint Benedetto
from Norcia in 529.
It was destroyed during the second world war and then rebuilt. An
historic museum and a Library with very important
documents, inside the abbey, are, nowadays, the reasons for which
it’s full of tourists, visitors and lovers of the art from every
part of the world.
